Dieter Langer, successful art director at Marburg Wallcoverings, presents his first designer collection. The collection name is somewhat deceiving, because what sounds very static is in reality captured motion – everything flows, all designs are of stupendous largess and lightness. Dieter Langer employs metallics and glimmer exquisitely. He achives changing effects with varying light refracture, yielding patterns that seem to have a life of their own, always presenting themselves surprisingly new and different.

A dotted design is especially fascinating, it appears like large orbs on a leather-like, matte base. If desired, the light can be positioned making shiny shell motifs visible. A collection which is all business during daylight – but glows in the evening light.

This theme is a distinctive example of the work of Dieter Langer. Nothing is as it appears on the surface, everything may be interpreted differently: Spheres become waves; dull begins to shine; formal, rigid structures dissolve into flowing forms. Precious and very artful is a zebra pattern which appears to flow and is at the same time captured by a striped effect.

A seemingly exhuberant, large repeat wave comes along very trendy on a gridded fond. Similarly fashionable is a stylized croc effect as a stripe, which matches to a faux solid with a playful, indian inspired allover pattern.

Formal and austere, inspired by the modern classic is an op-art inspired sphere, which appears as a wave if the pattern is hung inverse. Circles patterned like spirals in contrasting red/grey are eye-catching and modern – in classic beige and brown hues with gold and copper accents they exhibit as surprisingly subdued and elegant note. Wallcovering design ˆ la Dieter Langer naturally.
