About the Project:
For the Geranium Cardinal Point Model Homes in Stouffville, Toronto Interior Design Group transformed a house into a home with the combination of old and new elements. A 1950’s vintage tanker desk, a Philippe Starck La Marie acrylic chair, a 1955 George Nelson coconut chair and inexpensive picture frame patterned wall paper designed by Paul Rowan added character to a study. This design concept blends old with new and high with low elements, an approach Toronto Interior Design Group has incorporated into residential renovations in Toronto, Montreal and Miami.
Yanic Simard developed an interest in interior design growing up around his family’s construction business in Montreal. At an early age, Simard learned that good design and quality workmanship are integral to the art of living. He later explored the interior design industry in Montreal but spent several years in television as an entertainment host before establishing himself as an interior designer.
In 2002, Yanic Simard founded the Toronto Interior Design Group where he leads a group of designers creating new and innovative spaces for a wide range of clients. Simard’s designs have been featured in many Canadian publications and shows such as Citytv’s CityLine, The Toronto Star, The National Post, and Home and Decor. Simard has also partnered with HomeSense to create consumer educational seminars.
